First, House Speaker John Boehner, in a totally illegal move, invited the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to speak before congress without first discussing it with our President. Why was this totally illegal? "There is one key job . . . that the founding fathers assigned to the president alone. Second, during the speech, Netanyahu made a number of claims that have were meant to influence the U.S. congress regarding Iran and its nuclear aspirations. Some of these claims have been shown to be exaggerations and others to be out right lies. The truly unfortunate thing for our country, is that this total disregard by congress for the rule of law and for following established policies and procedures, is likely to harm both our continuing ability to govern ourselves and our standing in the international community as well.
